Developing Psychic Ability

look around you and sit where you please. Close your eyes and take a few breaths. With eyes still closed, stand up and take three steps.

Those steps are probably very small. Because even though you know there is nothing in front of you, you can't really be sure if your eyes are closed. Losing one of the five senses causes you to feel very ill at ease. Even with the assurance that you can open your eyes at any time in the comfort of your own home, you are still pensive.

From birth, most people rely on the five senses. When using psychic ability, one has to call on hidden senses as well.

In the experiment with eyes closed, you had to bring in your psychic gift to help you move. Even though you crept along, you were able to make those three steps without hurting yourself. Memory is a part of the psychic sense by helping you place events, ideas and objects in their proper prospective. In your mind's eye, you could see where each object in your path was so that you could maneuver around it.

People who are blind use their psychic abilities without being aware of it. The existing senses amplify and compensate for the lack of sight, making the blind person more aware of odors, feelings, hearing, and taste. Projecting their aura on all sides, they are able to feel an object before bumping it. Smell and hearing help in this process, too.

Remember the feelings you had in the experiment as you stood there. Were you confident? Were you frightened, even though you were safely in your own home? Were you unsure of what you were doing? Did you trust yourself? Was this hard to do? Keep in mind the flood of memories you had as you started to take that first step with your eyes closed.

Try it again with your eyes open. Sit back down. Stand up. Take three steps forward.
The difference is amazing. Having more confidence, you walk as if you know what you are doing. Knowing you can succeed in this little experiment; you go at this task with ease because you can see.
