Chapter Fifteen
Psychic Ability
A psychic, according to Webster's Dictionary, is a person apparently sensitive to non-physical forces.
"Psychic" also means of or relating to the psyche: lying outside the sphere of physical science or knowledge-immaterial, moral, or spiritual in origin or force. The psychic is also sensitive to nonphysical or supernatural forces and influences: marked by extraordinary or mysterious sensitivity, perception or understanding.
The meaning of the word "psychic" makes one think that this is a very hard inheritance to achieve. In fact, psychic ability is as simple as taking a breath. All you have to do is to use the talent that resides naturally inside you.
To use your psychic ability, becoming more aware of the six senses that you possess is imperative. The sense of smell, taste, touch, hearing, and seeing is all very important, but the most important of all is the sixth sense. Unlike the other five senses, it is considered intangible. Like the wind, you can't see it but you most certainly can feel it. The sixth sense utilizes the other five senses to create feelings above what is considered normal or real. Knowledge that one has this sense and the decision to use it is a supreme sense. Because of that knowledge, reverence for the gift is undeniable.
Allowing yourself to use your sixth sense means letting go of what you have always felt was real. Such is the belief in God. We all know that there is a supreme energy, but few of us have seen it.
An atom is the perfect example of psychic ability. It is real, even though most have never seen one. They link together to form an object or person. Their decision to come together in a certain way determines what they are going to be perceived as for that object or animal's lifetime.
Perception is what we think. Awareness starts with the use of the five senses. As soon as we touch, feel, smell, taste, or hear, the brain is alerted. The brain is made up of two sections: the right and the left hemispheres. Integrating the two sides creates psychic ability.
According to science, the right brain is the intuitive side. This side is thinking of more than one thing at once. The right side is creative, visual, yielding, and subjective and wants an overview of things it's processing. The right side sees no restrictions.
The left brain is more logical. It has to process events in the brain in a step-by-step manner. This side detects features. Being aggressive and analytical, it is interested in minute details. This is the rational side of the brain.
Most animals employ one side of the brain according to what they are trying to achieve. Good psychics use both logic and creativity at the same time, thereby utilizing the whole brain.
Scientists know that the brain works subconsciously to keep the body functioning on all levels. People make conscious decisions as to what they will eat, where they will sleep and the type of life they want to live.
Even the conscious activity of eating is governed somewhat by the subconscious when it desires a specific food for the well-being of the body. Cravings are issued by the subconscious.
Becoming so tired that you must lie down and sleep is another method in which the subconscious enters the conscious
