I was constantly bringing up other religions and telling him about things that were going to happen in the church. It was all right for me to see future events in the church. They called it prophecy, but according to them prophesy only happened within the confines of the church.
I would also hypothesize about such things as UFO's and their involvement in religion.
Saying to my father just for the sake of argument, "What if people in UFO's came down to Earth? Would we not consider them gods since they obviously were of higher intellect than we were? After all, they were in flying machines much greater than ours. Even the Old Testament spoke of these flying machines and people who were in them in II Kings and Ezekiel. What would they have looked like to people from the Old Testament times who had never seen an airplane?"
Daddy always had to be on his toes for me. A lot of prayers were said for my salvation. Because my father was under the opinion that if you "Spare the rod you spoil the child," he really wanted to make sure I was not spoiled.
When I was very young, I told him about reincarnation. This was not the best thing to say to my father. I learned to keep my mouth shut until I was old enough to speak my mind with out fear of reprisal. At thirty-nine, I brought the subject up to him again.
The Assemblies of God did not teach reincarnation. It makes you wonder where one so young could have gotten a belief such as past lives.
Metaphysical events were a constant in our house. Strange lights would come through the house, usually in threes. The Father, Son and Holy Ghost was the way my father described it.
My father saw them and so did my mother. One of my father's favorite stories was about the trinity of lights coming into his room and going through his body while he lay in bed beside my mother. Of course, she had a small problem with this type incident. This may have been one of the reasons for their divorce.
The divorce of my parents might have had an impact on my decision to stay quiet about my abilities all those years. Being psychic is not the easiest path to take in life.
