down to the water and up into flight again. Sandpipers run along the beach using their long sensitive beaks to probe the sand looking for mollusks. Then raising their heads again they run to another hole while crabs sidle along trying to get back to tide pools. This could be a wonderful hidden place.
Still others might want to stay in their own back yard swing. The safety of home can be comforting and can make the best mind vacation.
Under huge old trees, by a creek, with the sunlight throwing little spears as it dances through the limbs onto the mossy landscape below is another inviting location. Hearing the wind lightly rustle through the leaves of trees while it caresses your body, as the water gurgles happily over rocks in the creek is a real stress reducer. The smell of the moss and the combination of shadows moving jauntily as the wind gently moves branches to let the sunlight touch virginal spots on the mossy land is very peaceful.
Any of these places and many others can become your secret hideaway. The place that makes you feel safe, well and peaceful is wonderful for your third eye mind painting vacation. It is your little piece of heaven. Make it your own creation without interference from anyone else.
Once you have done your mind painting enjoy the sensation for a while. Let yourself go. Don't try to think or reason. Just be.
Don't try to guide your mind. Let your right brain be creative. Allow anything that occurs to do so without fear. You are perfectly safe.
Once painted and finished, some may feel as if they are leaving their comfortable place. Know that your comforting safe place is with you at all times. At any time, you can go back to your safe place with a thought. Give yourself license to enjoy any and all sensations while meditating.
Don't try to guide yourself into any particular place- just enjoy. This allows expansion of the mind. It may even take you into situations you did not know existed.
An example of one of those situations struck me with the knowledge that my way of thinking was rather small, even though my meditation was taking me into a much larger universe.
I'm able to go into a meditation just by closing my eyes and thinking I can. You will easily accomplish this same feat once you realize the value of meditation. It will become quite easy once you have mastered your breathing techniques.
Upon going to bed one night I closed my eyes to go into a quick meditation before going to sleep and got a sudden surprise. As soon as I closed my eyes, I saw two eyes staring back at me. It was like watching a horror movie where the fiend is looking into the window at the same time his next victim looks out. It was so totally unexpected and shocked me so much that I jumped while rapidly opening my eyes.
At the same time, I said mentally to myself, "Boy he's ugly," and I realized I heard him say the same thing about me only he said, "She's ugly.". Before I could get upset with his analysis of me, my guides mentioned that not everyone looks the way we think they should. They added there is beauty in everyone just the same.
Upon hearing this message, I laughed. How many times had I tried to teach others not to judge a book by its cover and to try to look deeper? Here I was being completely human, which I find hard to take now and then, and I had just said someone else looked ugly to me without considering his feelings.
As soon as I closed my eyes again, there he was looking back at me. This time we continued to eye one another but stood back a little so that we could see our whole heads.
