Da Juana Byrd is a psychic medium from birth who takes into account that the first face she can remember was that of a ghost. Her explanation of living with this ghost is described in the chapter, "His Name is John." Ghosts have given Da Juana their thoughts, even when unasked for, for as long as she can think back. Da Juana's firsthand knowledge of what ghost communication is, is because she was born a psychic medium and died in 1980 in surgery, as you'll read in her book, Ghosts Talk, when she relates her near death experience. While on the other side during her near death experience, she continued communicating with ghosts, just as she does now in her everyday life. Her insatiable desire for knowledge makes her ask questions most would never think to ask of ghosts. For her, they're a walking encyclopedia.
But ghosts give as good as they get. One ghost had this to say to Da Juana, "You're not only a medium who helps the living talk with the dead but you're also a medium who helps the dead." And they didn't mean by sending the dead into the light either. They meant by actually helping ghosts live because ghosts are only spirits who've left the physical body and thus live on. Spirits or ghosts keep their personalities on the other side, as you'll discover while reading Ghosts Talk.
As with most people, Da Juana learns by listening to ghostly visitors, whether when giving a reading or just in passing, and making an intelligent decision on whether the information has merit for her.
