Chapter Eighteen
Channeling or Mediumship
Or Communicating with Ghosts!
Webster's defines channeling as “the course or agency through which something passes.” Channels are sometimes called mediums. The definition in Webster’s of a medium is “a person thought to have the power to communicate with the spirits of the dead or with agents of another world or dimension; also called psychic.”
Speech is not the only form of communication. Touch, smell, taste, hearing, and sight are other ways to share. When these senses become heightened in using one’s psychic ability, a person is able to reach a different vibratory rate and thus come into contact with entities that have a different electrical makeup. Since everything is made up of energy or electrical units that vibrate at one rate or another, we are all part of the divine energy source called God.
As a part of the whole that is God, psychics’ souls can enter other dimensions. There they are able to spiritually raise their vibratory rate in order to communicate with whomever they seek.
All knowledge comes from God. The data may be perceived in different ways. A medium or channel is not obligated to speak only with what physically live persons consider “dead people.” Channeling live people, animals and other life is possible when giving a reading. Being able to describe for the person being read other live persons’ thoughts, demeanors and physical attributes is all part of a mediums abilities.
This is not only because the soul never dies but also because there are, as with everything, different methods for communication. Different languages spoken and signed among humans attest to that fact. Feelings of a higher magnitude using empathy, a mode for becoming one with another entity, are another manner in which communication takes place.
Some of the entities a medium might communicate with are our highest spiritual selves, other people, both alive and dead, plants, animals and inanimate objects.
When channeling our higher selves, we are actually requesting our highest spirituality and knowledge for service to the body, mind, and spirit. This is the part of the soul, which is generally deep in the subconscious. It has not forgotten that we are one with God. As a part of God, we are responsible for all others as well as ourselves. As the old cliché says, “No man is an island.”
In working with people and animals, a medium may be trying to learn about or communicate with the person, either dead or alive. Then she or he can give precious information to loved ones waiting to hear from their departed friends or family.
Inanimate objects usually give channels a history or a story of some sort. Sometimes what people consider inanimate is truly animate when giving details about its’ lives. They have spirit just as everyone does and as a part of God deserves the same respect we humans want.
Plants are fully capable of being channeled, too. A green thumb will say that she just knows what the plants need. Some don’t even know how they keep their plants alive, but they have what it takes.
Energy can be channeled just as you experienced when working in the Aura chapter as you tossed the energy ball from person to person. This consists of using your psychic senses to send and receive messages to and from others. Channeled energy can also be used as a method to promote healing of yourself and others.
