turquoise and other colors on his belt and headband. He wore a white feather headdress from his head to his ankles.
He was one of the most gorgeous people I have ever seen. He never acknowledged my presence, but he had a golden glow around his body, which made me immediately understand he knew I was there. Peace washed over me instantly. Knowing everything would be all right, I explained what I had seen to my husband.
Later, with the vision of this man still fresh, I spoke with someone who knows something about Native American lore and told her my story. She said this man was Sweet Medicine and is equivalent in their beliefs to Jesus in the Christian religion.
According to her, he is the teacher of peace. He certainly felt that way to me. She said that he is the highest medicine person in most Native American tribes and that the Lakota Sioux and Osage have particularly high reverence for him.
Why this man decided to come to me at this time of need, I don't know. Maybe he was giving me not only that sense of peace I so desperately needed, but he was also letting me know that it could come from a source of which I had no knowledge.
The woman I spoke with also told me that seeing Sweet Medicine looking toward the north meant that a resolution to my dilemma was at hand. At the time I saw him, it stuck in my mind that he was facing north and never once looked my way. After relating it to her, she confirmed what I had sensed from his presence.
Sometimes angelic beings use other human beings to teach and bring messages.
When I was a child there was a family who rented a three-room house next door to us. These people didn't have much, but they had love and, undoubtedly, understanding of the needs of others.
The family consisted of a father, mother and three daughters. Two of the daughters were close to my age, and we spent some time together.
