sleeping with a light on because I still do.) Since my father kept the rooms dark at night, I usually would pull the cover over my head even in the heat of summer, just to be safe. This was before air conditioners were commonplace.
The vision occurred in our front yard. It had every kind of flower known to man. The scents were wonderful. Our front yard had turned into a garden paradise. During that time period hardly anyone's yard had flowers, especially in such abundance.
The landscaping was gorgeous. Jesus sat beside me on a concrete bench, which was centered in the garden. Behind Him, to His right, was a golden stairway that led to the sky, with beautiful angels standing at intervals on the steps.
Jesus asked me why I wanted to see him. Replying to him without fear, I told him I didn't want to do what I had said I would come here to do. Rather than go through with it, I wanted to die. The "It" I was referring to was being ridiculed, persecuted and maybe even dying for my beliefs again. As a child, I had memories of dying for my beliefs.
He told me that he would take me if I really wanted to go. Ready to leave this earth plane, that made me very happy. After His having told me he would take me soon, the vision ended.
Without fear and with the self-importance of a six-year-old who had a secret, I walked through life waiting for Jesus to come to take me back home.
Three days later, Jesus came back to visit me. He told me that my father was really upset over the fact that I was ready to leave. My words to him were that daddy didn't even know.
His next question made perfect sense to me. He asked if I had not noticed that daddy had gone into his bedroom and stayed for the last three days, only appearing outside to go to the bathroom or to work.
In our religion, you went into a closet to pray, and you also fasted when you were worried about something in order to get closer to God. God is supposed to listen to you better since you are giving up something for Him. This is usually done when you are upset or really want His attention.
